Sea Glass and Wampum Necklace
This pendant features a smooth wampum shell, a frosty piece of sea glass, a glass bead, and silver-plated bead stacked on a handmade silver-plated necklace pendant. The purple bead and frosty white sea glass match beautifully with the white and purple stripes of the wampum shell.
The sea glass on these earrings has been shaped and smoothed to a soft finish by the ocean surf, and I personally collected it on the beaches along Monterey Bay.
The wampum shell in this necklace was also tumbled to a smooth finish and was a gift from a friend who collected it on the beaches of Long Island, New York. Wampum are traditional shell beads of the Eastern Woodlands tribes, made from the white and purple shells of the quahog, or Western North Atlantic hard-shelled clam.
Wampum were used by the northeastern Native Americans as a form of gift exchange, which makes this the perfect gift for a beach-loving friend…or a boho piece for you.
Pendant length approximately 2 inches.
– Comes with a 16" silver-plated curb chain necklace. Contact me if you would like a different length or style of necklace.
Variations and imperfections on the sea glass are natural results of the ocean's waves. If you have any questions or want more photos of an item, just let me know!
