Glass Fishing Float Necklace
If you've always dreamed of finding a Japanese fishing float on a beach this miniature fisherman's float necklace is the next best thing! Crafted out of a cute hollow teal bead and cotton string, it's a fun beachy necklace for men and women.
Glass fishing floats were once used by fishermen in many parts of the world to keep their fishing nets afloat. Early floats were handmade by glassblowers, often using recycled green sake bottles, and were wrapped in protective rope netting. Many of them are still afloat in the Pacific Ocean and still wash up on beaches. This necklace with its handmade glass bead and "rope" netting is a miniature version of these traditional floats.
- Handmade hollow glass bead, approximately 3/4" in diameter
- Handknotted 100% cotton string netting with handmade rope necklace
- Metal slider to adjust length of the necklace
Great gift! Makes a unique, one-of-a-kind gift for any beach lover!
Each necklace is one of a kind and may not look exactly like the pictures due to the handcrafting process. The cotton string varies in color to give the piece a natural weatherworn look.
