Fossil Shell Sterling Silver Necklace
Millions of years ago, California was under a vast sea, filled with marine animals. The clam in this pendant was one of these animals, and was buried by sand and then fossilized. Years of rainfall and wave action eventually eroded the stone where the fossil lay, and this fossil made its way back into the sea, where it was tumbled smooth by the surf and then washed back up onto the beach.
The smooth, tumbled clam shell fossil has now been turned into a beautiful handcrafted pendant. The fossil has a small silver-plated heart-shaped jewelry bail attached for hanging on a necklace or cord of up to 3mm in diameter. The fossil has a light coating of polyurethane to protect it and to bring out the natural patterns and colors. I personally collected this dainty sea-tumbled fossil on a beach along Monterey Bay.
Great unisex gift for men or women!
– Comes with a 16" silver-plated curb chain necklace. Contact me if you would like a different length or style of necklace.
Variations and imperfections on the fossil are natural results of the ocean's waves. If you have any questions or want more photos of an item, just let me know!
